The Website Blueprint

How we build
websites that win.

A clear, customer-first website turns visitors into leads and leads into clients. Here's exactly how we structure yours — section by section — using the StoryBrand framework.

Why StoryBrand

Your website isn't about you.

Most websites talk about the company — its story, its achievements, its "innovative solutions." A StoryBrand website does the opposite: it makes the customer the hero and positions you as the guide who helps them win. That one shift is the difference between a site that decorates and a site that sells.

Traditional website
"We're a full-service company offering innovative solutions. Here's our story."
StoryBrand website
"You're struggling with X. Here's how we help you solve it — and what your life looks like after."

This works because the brain is wired for survival. In seconds, a visitor is subconsciously asking two questions: "Will this help me survive?" and "Will this help me thrive?" Clear, customer-focused words answer both — fast. Lead with their problem and people lean in. Lead with your credentials and they tune out.

The Proof

Clarity isn't a nicety. It's conversion.

When a site is clear, people act. When it's confusing, they leave. The data is lopsided.

The 5-second test

Within five seconds, every visitor should be able to answer three questions. If they can't, you're losing them.

1

What do you offer?

2

How will it make my life better?

3

What do I do to get it?

Case Study · SpringVine Design
We rebuilt SpringVine Design's site around their customer's story. Visitors went from skimming and bouncing to actually reading — average time on site jumped 4.3×. That's the difference between a bounce and a buyer.

How we design

Two calls to action. Two jobs.

A confused visitor never clicks. So every page gives people two clear next steps — one for the buyer who's ready now, and one for the 90% who need a little more time.

  • The primary CTA — the direct ask, like "Schedule a Call." Bold, repeated, and always top-right, for people ready to act.
  • The on-ramp CTA — the low-risk next step, like "Download the Free Guide." It captures an email so you can earn the sale over time.
  • Together they catch both ends of your audience — instead of losing everyone who isn't ready to buy today.
Primary — ready now
On-ramp — not ready yet
How we design

People don't read. They skim — in a Z.

Eyes move left-to-right, top-to-bottom in a zig-zag. So we place your headline, your proof, and your buttons exactly where the eye naturally lands — alternating side to side down the page — so no one ever has to hunt for the next step.

  • Content zig-zags to follow the natural reading path
  • Buttons sit right where the eye arrives
  • Every section earns the scroll to the next
Section 01

The Header

The top of your site has one job: pass the 5-second test. A visitor should instantly grasp what you offer, how it helps them, and what to do next — before they scroll an inch.

  • Your logo, top-left
  • A bold statement of what your customer wants
  • One line on what you actually do
  • A primary call-to-action button (e.g. "Schedule a Call")
  • An image of a happy customer enjoying success
Section 02

The Stakes

Name the problems your customer is living with. When you describe their pain better than they can, they trust that you have the solution — and your offer becomes the obvious fix.

  • A short, plain-language "Do you struggle with…" list
  • 3–4 real problems — both practical and emotional
  • Framed in your customer's own words, not jargon
Section 03

The Value Proposition

Show — in scannable chunks — the value of working with you. Three benefits or services, each with an icon, a short title, and a single sentence. Enough to raise perceived value, not so much that it overwhelms.

  • Three benefits or core services
  • An icon + short title + one sentence each
  • A repeated call-to-action button
Section 04

The Guide

Now you earn trust. You position your brand as the guide with two moves: empathy ("we get it — this is hard") and authority (proof you can actually help). This is where doubt turns into confidence.

  • An empathy statement that shows you understand
  • Authority: client logos, testimonials, stats, awards
  • Kept brief — you're the guide, not the hero

Section 05

The Plan

Risk freezes people. A simple, three-step plan lifts the fog and shows how easy it is to work with you. We make the third step the success itself, so the path to winning is obvious.

  • Three clear, numbered steps
  • Step three = the result they want
  • Named so it feels like a proven process

Section 06

Packages & Pricing

Make the offer concrete. When people can see exactly what they get and what it costs, they stop wondering and start choosing. Three options work best — most people pick the middle.

  • Usually three tiers, side by side
  • The middle option highlighted
  • What's included, spelled out, with a CTA on each
Section 07

The Explanatory Paragraph

A short, search-friendly paragraph that tells the whole story in miniature: the problem your customer faces, the solution you offer, and the success they'll experience. It's also where your keywords live.

  • Problem → solution → success, in a few sentences
  • Written in plain, human language
  • Paired with an image and a CTA
Section 08

The Lead Magnet

Most visitors aren't ready to buy today. A lead magnet gives them something valuable in exchange for an email — so you can nurture the relationship instead of losing it. This is how a website actually generates leads.

  • A genuinely useful free resource (PDF, guide, checklist)
  • A short, benefit-driven title
  • A simple form: name + email + download
Section 09

The Footer

We call it the "junk drawer" — and that's a compliment. It holds everything that didn't earn a spot above the fold: navigation, contact details, legal links, social icons. Useful, tidy, out of the way.

  • Secondary navigation & contact info
  • Social links and legal/copyright
  • Anything that would clutter the main story
