nvc - Finals Recap


The New York Public Library provided the setting for the 2006-2007 NVC Finals on March 5, 2007.
Fifty finalists from around the country converged on New York City for the big event. With special appearances by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Ray Simon and New York City Schools Chancellor Joel Klein, the students competed in three rounds of intense competition.
In the end, Robert Marsland of Madison, Wisconsin clinched the title of National Vocabulary Champion and walked away with $40,000 toward college tuition.
